9 times out of 10, when a player grabs a puck. It's for someone else. They could have been for Duchene's 200th goal for all we know. Maybe he just grabbed it to get the media going and put pressure on ownership.... who knows.

I will say we lost the game 6-5 and Sens have 65 points and are a negative 65 goal diff.... It's a sign Karlsson is resigning muahahahaha

In all seriousness, I've been trying to stay positive but in the back of my head the whole time I kept thinking "he's gone". Until his speech about his after the loss of his baby, the team, management and community in Ottawa really embraced them and he couldn't be happier about that group. Just the way he was talking sounded like he wants to stay.

Time will tell, I'm just hoping PD doesn't screw it up. Fans will never forgive him

People can speculate about Karlsson's act all they want, could be just a just in case act by him, or it could mean he's leaving. No real point in obsessing over it.

Chabot is looking very good. He's gaining confidence and developing into a real good player.

Also, Logan Brown currently leading the OHL in playoff scoring.

Chabot is going to be amazing and is on track for that.

They were saying on the team 1200 that Brown should be in the NHL next year and Formenton is looking that way as well.

I’m changing my mind. At first i didn’t want him to go but maybe it is better for everyone involved if we get a decent return. Please don’t include Ryan and just keep him when rebuilding, otherwise the return will disappoint.

Will miss Karlsson a lot though if he goes still my fav player in the NHL

You are pretty naive with this kind of stuff. If it was for duchene, he would have picked up the puck after he scored, not wait till the end of the game for it. And especially doesnt stuff it into his pants afterwards. If it was for Duchene you would already see pictures of Dutchy holding the puck saying 200 NHL goals

Sorry boys but hes mentally packed up. It sucks to have one of your best players in franchise history end on a sour note, but it is what it is....nothing against EK, it all has to do with Eugene running him out of town and using the media to try to carry water for him.

They were talking about it on the team 1200 this morning. How it could have been for Duchene, or he could be doing it as a "what if" or it could be to get the media going to put pressure for more money.

The whole team is checked out at this point... Which is a good thing because it could get us closer to Dahlin.

Karlsson grabbing the puck is fine even if it's for him. In his mind it could be the last time he plays in the CTC as a Sen. If not? Well, extra practice puck. He's been big in the community and leaving would be a huge deal for him.

Not a big deal, but at least the media gets speculation points.

It seemed he's prepared for the possibility of it being his last game. Saying he's mentally packed up might be an overstatement, but so too is saying it might have been for Duchene's 200th goal, that seems like willful blindness in my opinion.

He took it because he's aware it MIGHT be his last game at the CTC.

wrong Adam.

If he wanted to be out of Ottawa why would he hold such sentimentality about the puck at the end of his potentially final HOME game...

Puck is probably for him just in case what happens, its not really for anyone else.

I dont think hes playing mind games after losing a hockey game to help get pressure to make Eugene pay him what he deserves. He doesnt care what the fans think, hes cheap and cares about bottom dollars and will run someone out of town if they dont take a discout for him. He did it with Alfie, what makes you think hes going to break for EK?

I can agree with the what if situation, but after this year he gone through in ottawa, to having Eugene pubicaly spat wtih him, trade rumours, actively shopping him, from basically traded to Vegas to have the deal fall apart last minute at the deadline.

I think his time has come for a fresh start and he might be just getting ready to move on

just did it with Turris as well, it sucks and feel bad for Ott fans to have such a donkey of an owner. So much talent being wasted then run out of town bc a guy is so cheap that he refused to put resources around his best players then gets upset when they dont want to take discounts for him.

I'd say a better example would be Turris he really cheaped out there. But all in all I'm glad we got Duchene over Turris.

Again though, Alfie was not on Ownership or management that was on Alfie. He got paid a lot of money but his deal was front ended loaded. Alfie was just a quitter. I still don't get why people give him so much credit after he openly gave up on this team twice.

Ummm no it was Ownership.

http://ottawacitizen.com/...negotiations-went-nowhere

“When I did my last contract for four years ending in the (2012-13) season, I was asked to help the team manage the salary cap by adding on a extra year to my contract. I agreed. Each side fully expected I would retire and not play the 2012-13 season,” he said in the gymnasium at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.

“However, after the 2012 season, I told the Sens I wanted to play another season. I also asked to look at a possible extension this upcoming season at a fair amount to balance out the two years for both of us. They agreed.

“In late June this year, I decided I had it in me to play one more season,” he explained. “I told management I was willing to return and I reminded them of our agreement from the year before.”

The negotiations “quickly stalled,” he said, and a few days later, the Detroit Red Wings came calling.

So no it wasnt on Alfie, Sens were being cheap snakes in the grass and tried to fight him over money going back on their words to save some cash. Come on man take the blinders off

You're going to miss that 2018 or 2019 1st rounder when Duchene walks for nothing at the end of next season

not to mention the added prospects

100% disagree, He got paid for his services, and yes he got $1 Million in his last year but he can cry the poor river all he wants that doesn't change the fact that his contract was front end loaded.

On top of that he openly gave up on the team in the playoffs saying that we weren't good enough to come back in that final series.

But go watch the press conference with Bryan Murray. He very openly said he was willing to write Alfie a blank cheque and was told by ownership to "get Alfie signed no matter what the cost".

Bryan Murray talked to Alfie three times, Openly asking him if the rumors about him and the Wings were true and even offering to sign and trade him to a contender if Alfie felt we couldn't win a cup in Ottawa. Alfie denied the rumors and said he was thinking about retiring but would let him know.

Byran Murray was waiting for the call back when he heard that Alfie gave up on the team again and signed with the Wings.

Years later after having his Jersey retired, he came back again to work for the Sens and randomly quit on us again. The guy is a quitter and as far as I am concerned, should never have had his jersey retired after the crap he pulled. I understand his stats and what he means to the city of Ottawa, But you don't do that to a fan base.

So Sens fans are so blind to their team and Eugene that tye will turn on the face of the franchise for 20 years...wow. A team that had cap space for days and their captain and leader wanted to return for one more year....no we wont pay. Crazy take

Cant wait till next year how people will be bashing Karlsson once he signs an extension with the new team he is traded to
